What is Google Cooking?

Photo Matt What is Google Cooking? it appears that rather than just following links and crawling what it finds google is now actively searching for Atom.xml news feeds. This is a departure from the norm. There are many possible explanations for this:

• It could be something to help it's newly aquired Blogger that only generates Atom.
• It could also be to try and filter out the googlewashing effects of weblogs that have harmed the reliability of it's PageRank system.
• It could be that it wants to create a search of the blogosphere that when combined with its search of newsgroups and beta Gmail system that keyword searchs all sent and recieved email should produce a very accurate and up to the minute representation of the current zietgiest, pure gold for the advertisers that Google needs to stay in business
